Made for the M50/52/54 M40/42/43/44 in combination with a Sachs M20 clutchkit. It fits the 5MT of the m40, m42, m43, M44, M50, M52, M54. It does not fit the M54 6-speed. The 228mm flywheel consists of very strong Chromoly and weighs only 3.2kg (standard M50 dual mass is 11.2kg).
Due to the low weight it will greatly improve the response of the engine and the acceleration also increases. Less power is needed to bring the flywheel up to speed and this power is then immediately delivered to the wheels. (less drive-train loss)
It is recommended to check that the slave cylinder is approximately 60-70% depressed after installation. In some cases a slightly longer axle is needed on the slave cylinder, which can be made from a piece of 8mm steel or an M8 bolt.
Please note: the clutch set is M20 sized and intended for use with a small 10-key gearbox such as an E36 325i (late E46/Z4 have 22-key and E46 M3 has a larger 10-key),
Kit consists of:
- sintered clutch plate
- reinforced pressure group
- higher than original brass pin (because the single-mass flywheel is flatter than the dual-mass flywheel)
- flywheel bolts
- pressure group bolts
This set fits, for example, standard E36 325i. There are also combinations available based on a 240mm flywheel and M30 clutch set.
